The 5-month-old baby and mother who were the subject of an Amber alert were found safe hours after the alert was issued.
The mother walked up to a friend"s house with 5-month-old Ava with her.
Police say the suspect, the baby"s father, assaulted the baby"s mother before fleeing with them both. Police say while leaving the scene he fired off several gunshots.
The suspect also threatened to kill the child.
Family members said the suspect is depressed and suicidal because of a recent break-up.
The car that sought in the case was found but police were searching for the suspect.
