There are plenty of opportunities on Friday"s slate and here"s what I"m thinking about.

Pitching

On our top tier Friday we have Chris Archer ($12,000) and Dallas Kuechal ($11,400) on the hill tonight. Archer is at home against the Red Sox, Gonzalez and Kuechal is on the road against the Angels.

The second tier we have Justin Verlander ($8,800) on the road against the Indians, Gio Gonzalez ($8,800) is on the road against Miami Steven Matz ($8,600) on the road against the Braves and Marco Estrada ($8,500) on the road against the Yankees.

If I am going to spend money tonight the highest upside is probably Keuchel against the Angels. The Angels have been terrible over the past month with a 18 percent strikeout rate, wOBA of .289 and wRC+ of 86. Keuchel on the other hand is 4-0 over his past 5 starts averaging just over 10 strikeouts per nine innings with a 2.24 xFIP. That"s good enough for me right there but when we consider his mound opponent Jerad Weaver"s struggles this season and an Astros offense that over the past 2 weeks has been just mashing the ball with a .194 ISO, wOBA of .348 and wRC+ of 121 its hard to not spend up and go with Keuchel on Friday night.

Verlander has been nothing short of fantastic over his last 6 starts and its hard to ignore him against the Indians on Friday night. Averaging nearly 9 strikeouts per nine and walking less than 2 against an Indians team that over the last couple of weeks strikes out 17 percent of the time with a .304 wOBA and wRC+ of 93 makes Verlander worthy of some serious consideration on Friday night. The only thing that gives me pause in this matchup would be Andersons seeming mastery of the Tigers bats that have slashed a miserable .095/.174/.143/.317 line against Anderson this season.

Steven Matz is going to be a really solid play against the Braves on Friday. The Braves offense is horrible and while Matz is still trying to find his way since returning from the DL its hard to ignore the upside of a pitcher that can strike out 6 hitters or more per nine against a team that strikes out 19 percent of the time with a wRC+ of 80 over the second half of the season.

Stacking Opportunities for Wednesday

I suppose the best but probably the most expensive stack of the night would be the Cubs lefties against the Philles right hander Alec Asher. Asher has given up 11 earned runs in less then 10 innings pitched thus far this season. Actually just about any Cubs hitter should be good Friday night.

Cardinals lefties againt the Reds Michael Lorenzen would also be a good stacking opportunity with Matt Carpenter ($3,300), Kolton Wong ($2,300) and Matt Adams ($3,000) possibly providing very good value Friday night.

Mets lefties against the Braves Matt Wisler is a great possibility with Michael Conforto ($3,100) ,Kelly Johnson ($2,500) and Lucas Duda ($3,400) being the primary inexpensive lefthanded bats. Yoenis Cespedes ($5,300) Daniel Murphy ($3,500) Travis d"Arnaud ($3,900) and Curtis Granderson ($3,600) are also good but more expensive plays to consider on Friday night.

Tampa Bay Rays righties Evan Longoria ($3,400), Logan Forsythe ($3,600) and Mikie Mahtook ($2,700) have a nice matchup against Boston lefty Wade Miley that is very reasonable price wise and potentially lethal and should also be considered on Friday night.

Value Picks for Wednesday Evening

Adam Jones ($3,000) against the lefty Danny Duffy is still a good play and at his price he"s hard to ignore on Friday night. His lifetime stats against Duffy aren"t very good but Jones is still a lefty crusher capable of a double digit DFS points outpout and must be considered.

The Brewers Scooter Gennett ($2,200) has a nice matchup with the Pirates Charlie Morton. Gennet has had some success against Morton and is slashing a .287/.319/.423/.742 line and all 6 of his bombs this season against righties.

Good luck tonight Fantasy Baseball owner!!
