We will not let Ted Cruz shut down this government over Planned Parenthood, said Warren at a fundraiser for the Texas Democratic Party, according to the Texas Tribune. He wants a fight over Planned Parenthood? My answer is, Bring it on, Ted!

Cruz, a 2016 presidential candidate, has vowed to do everything he can to defund Planned Parenthood, even if it means another government shutdown. He and a few dozen House conservatives have promised to fightany must-pass government funding legislation that gives money to the womens health organization.

Cruz has struggled to get othersenators on board, a side effect of his open war with Republican leadership and his 2013 fight over Obamacare that voters blamed on Republicansdespite giving them the Senate majority a year later.

President Obama has embraced the radical position to try to shut down the entire federal government if this one private organization does not get taxpayer money, Cruz told Politico. It is only in the twisted, inverted logic of the Washington Beltway that anyone other than Barack Obama would bear responsibility for that shutdown.

A day beforeWarren prodded Cruz, Ellen Pagesaid Cruz and fellow Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee seems homophobic in an interview with The Daily Beast.

They dont answer the question, said Page, who sparred over LGBT rights with Cruz last month at the Iowa State Fair. They say youre cutting them off when you try to ask the same question again because theyre not answering it, because the reality is that they might be homophobic people. To me, it seems like theyre homophobic people.

Cruz has previously said he disagrees with same-s*x marriage, but supports a states right to define the union.

Weve reached out to the Cruz campaign for comment.
