Jameis Winston drew a blank.
There"s video evidence, but that doesn"t matter. In Winston"s world, this never happened:

"I don"t know what you"re talking about," the Buccaneers quarterback said after Tampa"s 10-6 victory dealt the Cowboys their seventh straight loss. He smiled, but just barely.
Winston is practicing selective memory, and when good things quickly chase away the bad, that"s a lot easier. The very next play after the now you see it, now you don"t fumble, Winston was in the end zone on a 1-yard n***d bootleg right, and the Bucs were holding on towinfor the second time in three weeks.
"The touchdown was magical," Winston said. "Great fake, great call, found a way in the end zone. The play before that, I have no recollection of."
That"s the lesson for the young quarterback. Following the four-interception implosion against the Panthers on Oct. 4, Winston pushed through four games without a single interception. It was by every definition an impressive stretch. The turnover-free outings came with wins over the Jaguars and Falcons, a one-point loss to the Redskins and a sound beating at the hands of the Giants.
Winston used the period to grow up. He did it without ever having a full complement of the Bucs" brightest receiver stars Mike Evans, Vincent Jackson and tight endAustin Seferian-Jenkins as they dealt with injuries. He did it while learning on the job, every game presenting a never-before-seen challenge for the rookie. His healthy resources limited, Winston refuses to complain or play the what-if game.
Still, he is nowhere near a finished product. He threw two interceptions against the Cowboys, and fumbled a ball that the Bucs recovered.
"Those two picks, I just gotta make throws," he said. "It"s not necessarily bad reads at all; tipped b***s that I can fix."
He can control that, just like he can at least try to control what memories he chooses to hang on to, and which ones he"ll let go.
"What fumble?" he asks.
