Some injury news for the Chicago Bears ahead of their road game with the St. Louis Rams: wide receiverAlshon Jefferyis expected to play, however running back Matt Forte is likely to miss his second straight game. Both players were listed as questionable.
When healthy, Jeffery can be one of the toughest receivers to defend, but health is becoming an ongoing issue for the fourth-year man. In just four games this year, hes made 33 receptions for 492 yards and two touchdowns. Hes fresh off a 10-catch, 151-yard performance in San Diego last Monday.
Up against the leagues No. 4 pass defense, the Bears will need to rely on Jeffery, who has emerged as the teams top receiver with rookie Kevin White yet to debut. His ability to use his big frame to make contested catches could be crucial in this game.
Forte, as expected, is likely to sit out for his second straight game. Forte sprained his MCL in the loss to Minnesota two weeks ago. The encouraging news is that he was able to practice in a limited fashion this week, and could make his return next week against Denver.
With Forte out, rookie Jeremy Langford will likely take the bulk of the workload in the backfield. He impressed against San Diego last week, piling up 142 all-purpose yards with a touchdown.
