Troubled actor was apprehended by bounty hunters at Universal Studios City Walk in Los Angeles
Former Scandal star Columbus Short was in police custody Wednesday night, after being arrested by bounty hunters duringhis album release party at Universal Studios City Walk in Los Angeles a day earlier.
Following his arrest, he washeld on $250,000 bail at the Mens Central Jail.
His arrest was not due to an outstanding warrant as was erroneously reported, hisrep said.It appears that this is a citizens arrest as a result of an issue between Mr. Short and his bail bondsman.

Mr. Short was in good standing with the court when he was picked up. Its really just between him and his bail bondsman, the rep added.
Short was due to appear before a judge at 8:30 a.m. Thursdayat the LAX Superior Court in Los Angeles. However, his attorney Ludlow B. Creary told TheWrap that Short was expected to post bail before then, and in turn would not have to attend the Thursday hearing. He is in the process of bailing out as we speak, Creary said.
Short, 32, was aboutto go on stageto perform his new music at Universals Infusion Lounge when men in bullet-proof vests with Agent emblazoned on them apprehended him,later handinghim over to the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department for booking.
The arrest was the latest in a series of legaltroubles involving the embattled actor. In April 2014, he left thehit ABC show Scandal after being charged in a domestic violence case.

In December 2014, a judge ruled that Short would stand trialon afelony battery charge stemming from a March brawl in the parking lot of a Los Angeles bar, where hewasaccused of punching Fenton Hyche. Hyche suffered a concussion and a fractured eye socket, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorneys Office. If convicted, Short faces up to four years in prison in the case.
