Tom Selleck is being sued for allegedly stealing water in California

As California continues to battle alongstanding drought,Tom Selleck and his wife are being sued for allegedly stealing truckloads of hydrant water. T

In court documents obtained by EW, theCalleguasMunicipal Water District is suing for over $21,000 in damages, plus court fees, as well as the right for preliminary or permanent injunction to stopSelleckand his workers from taking water from theCalleguasdistrict hydrants.

The alleged theft began in 2013at which point the water district sent Selleck and his wife cease-and-desist-lettersand resumed again in March 2015.

The company filed the suit on June 30, after California communities were ordered to reduce water use by 25 percent in hopes of lessening the states four-year drought.

According to the Los Angles Times, Selleck grows avocados on his 60-acre estate, where he and his wife have lived for over 30 years.
