Two members of Ohio State has won an award that sounds like the ultimate jinx.
Joey Bosa and Ezekiel Elliott have been named preseason Big Ten player of the year.
Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa earned 37 of the 38 votes as the preseason Big Ten defensive player of the year.Bosa has had 13.5 sacks in each of the past two seasons and is considered by many to be one of the top NFL prospects in college football.
He greatly improved his rushing defense in his second season with the Buckeyes, posting 20 tackles for loss.
Marylands William Likely was the only other defensive player to earn a vote in the poll.
Buckeye tailback Ezekiel Elliott added to his trophy case, earning the preseason Big Ten offensive player of the year.Elliott was the Sugar Bowl MVP and the National Championship Game MVP last January.
He took 31 of the 39 votes.
Some Buckeye fans might be excited to see these players earn preseason awards, but most fans should cringe at this.
These awards come with so much curse and jinx potential Well at least if Elliott or Bosa go down with injuries or have mediocre seasons, we know what to blame.
