Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's uncle gives his take: 'They want blood. They want death.'

Dzhokhar Tsarnaevs uncle told the Herald jurors were determined to execute his nephew, saying the 21-year-old was the victim of a domineering older brother.

They want blood. They want death, the 12 people who decided to kill him, said Alvi Tsarni, referring to the jury that unanimously decided Tsarnaev should be executed for the heartless attacks.

Tsarni, of Maryland, said he didnt know about the verdict until a Herald reporter called him yesterday for reaction. Informed that his nephew had just been sentenced to death, Tsarni said: I dont feel anything. ... Nothing feel.

Later in the interview he admitted to feeling saddened.

I wanted him to live in prison, said Tsarni, adding he believes Dzhokhars older brother, Tamerlan, was the mastermind of the bombings. He made him do it. Hes young. Young people dont think.

Tsarni said he didnt attend any of the court proceedings in Boston because he had to work, but had been following the trial by watching it on the Internet.

Asked if he believes Dzhokhar is guilty of placing a bomb near the Boston Marathon finish line in 2013, Tsarni would only say: I believe in American justice.

I thought whole life in prison would be justice, Tsarni said in broken English. Because he would be totally shuttered.

Tsarni said he didnt know whether he would try to contact Dzhokhar now that hes officially on death row.

Well see.
