4th Annual "Cops Gone Wild" Held at Buffalo Wild Wings

Spring break may be over, but a few cops are still going wild at Buffalo Wild Wings in Stevens Point, all for a great cause.

Law enforcement from both Portage and Wood County took a break from their usual police beat to serve food, clean tables, and interact with the community.

All tips earned, plus 10 percent of food sales, will go to the Special Olympics Wisconsin.

Deputies said it's an event that was started four years ago as a way to help special athletes in their community with things like uniform purchase and game registration.

"Now that we've been doing it for a couple of years, people understand what it is. So we get a lot of people that are grateful for us being here," said Deputy Travis Levandowski, with the Portage County Sheriff's Office, "(They) thank us for what we do for a living, and that we support such a great cause."

"Cops Gone Wild" t-shirts were also sold for $10 to help raise money. Organizers said they hope to reach their goal of $3,000 by the end of the day.
