When the Jacksonville Jaguars selected Dante Fowler with the third overall pick in the draft they hoped he would be an immediate difference maker. That will all be on hold for the time being, after Fowler left practice with a knee injury
The injury happened during the Jaguars first rookie mini-camp practice during 11-on-11 drills. ESPNs Michael DiRocco reported a left knee injury. A video was posted by Chad Weeks, who was attending practice. Its a troubling injury for a player who was predicted to be one of the best young pass rushers in the game. Fowler was the first defensive player selected this year and was hoped to be the anchor on the Jaguars defensive line. NFL.com reports:
Fowler was paired up against Georgia offensive lineman Watts Dantzler when his left kneebent awkwardlybelow him. He put no weight on the leg as he was carried away.
Further detail on what kind of knee injury it was is not yet available. If its something major, Jacksonville could be playing without Fowler well into the season.
