Jason Terry says he'll return for 17th season in 2015-16

HOUSTON -- Facing the prospect of elimination from the playoffs Monday night, Rockets guard Jason Terry was adamant that Game 4 of these Western Conference finals would by no means be his last.

At 37 and soon to be a free agent, Terry told ESPN.com that he fully intends to return for a 17th NBA season in 2015-16.

"One hundred percent," Terry said before Monday's tipoff.

Terry also will get at least one more game this season after the Rockets beat the Golden State Warriors 128-115 to reduce their series deficit to 3-1.

Initially dismissed as a Houston trade acquisition coveted by Rockets general manager Daryl Morey either as a future trade asset or as a swipe at the rival Dallas Mavericks, given Terry's long history alongside Mark Cuban, Terry quickly hushed such assumptions by emerging as one of the Rockets' strongest locker room voices.

And he has taken on a role in Houston's backcourt since the late March wrist injury that has knocked starter Patrick Beverley out of the postseason.

The Rockets are thus expected to try to bring Terry back via free agency come July. He's in the final season of a three-year, $15.6 million deal he landed from the Boston Celtics in the summer of 2012 after a eight-season run with the Mavericks that featured a championship in 2011 and an NBA Sixth Man of the Year award in 2009.

Earlier in the playoffs, Rockets center Dwight Howard said of Terry: "He's been a great veteran to our team, a great voice in the locker room, a great voice on the court wherever it may be. He's been consistent all year. He's done an excellent job bringing myself and James [Harden] closer as teammates and also as leaders of this team."

Memorial day reminder on American flag etiquette

Memorial day reminder on American flagetiquette

On Memorial Day its important torememberAmerican flag etiquette and rules for respectfully displaying the flag, as dictated by the United States Flag Code.

In 1923, the National Flag Code was created as advisory rules for displaying the countrys star-spangled banner.

The USA flag siteshares the following general guidelines with the public.

The flag should always been lit when flying.

The flag should only be flown in fair weather, unless itis specifically designed for use in inclement weather.

Also in regard to recent debate over some popular stores selling apparel featuring the flag upside down, CNN quoted the flag code and explained what that symbol actually means.

The U.S. flag code allows the flag to fly with the union (the blue field of stars) down but only as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.

Additionally the flag etiquette site states, the flag code prohibits it from being used as part of a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be used on the uniform of military personnel, fireman, policeman and members of patriotic organizations.

It goes on to say, the flag should not be embroidered, printed or otherwise impressed on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, boxes, or anything intended to be discarded after temporary use. Advertising signs should not be attached to the staff or halyard.

Although breaking the rules would be considered disrespectful, sincethe code is only considered advisory, there is no penalty for breaking the flag code.

For more information on the star-spangled banner, visit the USA Flag Site.

Warner Bros rethinks its advertising for San Andreas movie after Nepal quake

After the Nepal earthquake, Warner Bros will evaluate the worldwide marketing campaign for its disaster film San Andreas, the studio said on Wednesday.

A Warner Bros representative, Paul McGuire, said the studio wants to ensure it is sensitive to people affected by the tragedy.

The powerful earthquake in Nepal on Saturday killed more than 5,000 people, injured twice that many and left tens of thousands of people homeless.

San Andreas imagines the aftermath of a devastating earthquake in California. Promos for the film to be released on 29 May show Los Angeles and San Francisco landmarks crumbling and wreckage flying at crowds.

In future promos, the studio will be including information on how to help the relief efforts in Nepal and also how to prepare for natural disasters.

Warner Bros had already planned public service announcements about preparedness around the marketing of the film, which stars Dwayne Johnson and Carla Gugino, but adjusted and accelerated those efforts after the quake in Nepal.

Universal Pictures has the film Everest set for release in September. The story is based on Jon Krakauers non-fiction novel Into Thin Air, about a tragic 1996 expedition. It follows a climbing group that is devastated by a severe storm.

With 19 people killed on Mount Everest in the recent earthquake, Universal will also consider changes to its promotion.

Main CardJoseph Benavidez (#2) vs. John Moraga (#5)

Round 1:

Moraga opens with a couple kicks but gets dropped by a punch. Benavidez works the top game and moves into side control. He works for mount, but can't get it. Moraga works his way up and ends up taking Benavidez's back. He switches around and throws a few knees but gets taken down again.

Wrestling Inc scores the round 10-9 for Joseph Benavidez

Round 2:

Benavidez lands a good combo that earns him a counter uppercut from Moraga. Both men throw heavy leg kicks, then circle for a little while before Moraga scores a body kick and big right punch. Benavidez takes Moraga down and moves to side control. Benavidez grinds his elbow across Moraga's face, which is cut on the top of his head.

Wrestling Inc scores the round 10-9 for Joseph Benavidez

Round 3:

Both men land several punches as they slug it out for almost a full minute. Benavidez lands a takedown and goes right back to elbows in side control before Moraga regains guard. Benavidez keeps top control for the rest of the fight.

Wrestling Inc scores the round 10-9 for Joseph Benavidez, making it 30-27 Benavidez

Official Result: Joseph Benavidez (#2) defeats John Moraga (#5) via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

I'm not sure where Benavidez goes from here. He's lost to the champion twice, and is too small for 135 pounds.

Travis Browne (#3) vs. Andrei Arlovksi (#8)

Round 1:

Arlovski clips Browne early and follows up with huge punches, but Browne recovers. It looked like Arlovski needed that boost of confidence. Browne lands a couple of nice punches, but gets clipped three more times. Browne gets his wits back and scores a leg kick. Arlovski drops Browne with a backhand. Browne drops Arlovski! This is crazy. Arlovski back up and finishes Browne on the feet!

Official Result: Andrei Arlovski (#8) defeats Travis Browne (#3) via TKO (punches) Round 1, 4:41

That was one of the craziest rounds in UFC history. My words can't do it justice. That was guano crazy.

Donald Cerrone (#3) vs. John Makdessi

Round 1:

Cerrone scores a couple of huge leg kicks, then a body kick. He looks two weight classes bigger than Makdessi. A head kick lands for Cerrone, and poor Makdessi looks lost. Cerrone's corner flat out tells Cerrone to play with Makdessi. Cerrone lands a couple of punches, and Makdessi finally gets a body-head hook combo. Makdessi gets a jab, but that motivates Cerrone to land a few big punches of his own. Cerrone is in complete control. Makdessi gets a few punches off to close the round

Overtime is winning time for Blackhawks

Postseason greetings from the Blackhawks usually haven't been received warmly by opponents, especially when it comes to overtime.

Antoine Vermette's goal in the second overtime of Game 4 of the Western Conference finals Saturday moved the Hawks to 4-0 in overtime games during the playoffs this season. The Blackhawks are the first team in NHL history to win four multiple-overtime playoff games in one year, per Elias Sports Bureau.

"We need to bypass the first three periods and just play OT, it seems," Blackhawks winger Bryan Bickell joked Sunday before the team left for Anaheim, Calif.

Twelve players on the roster have combined to score 20 overtime playoff goals in their careers. Patrick Kane leads the way with four, followed by Brent Seabrook (three), Jonathan Toews, Marian Hossa and Bickell with two each.

Kane's goal, his ninth of the playoffs, tied the score 4-4 when Ducks goalie Frederik Andersen fell bottom-first on the puck, pushing it across the line in the third. This after the Blackhawks gave up three goals in 37 seconds to cough up a 3-1 lead.

The Blackhawks have made themselves at home on the edge and defied logic in the process. Five times they have allowed three unanswered goals in a period this postseason; three times they have won those games.

"We try not to live and die with every play, but play the same way no matter what the score and no matter what happens throughout a game," Kane said. "It seems like we've been in this situation a lot. We just try to stay calm and try to do whatever we can to get the next one."

If history is indicative of their story, the Blackhawks have the Ducks right where they want them tied 2-2.

The Hawks never have lost a postseason game under Joel Quenneville after being tied 2-2 in a playoff series, going 14-0 in such instances.

"Our mindset is staying with it (and) somebody will ... make a great play," Quenneville said. "But then again you don't want to be too in a hurry to make that play because sometimes that can bite you. Being patient."

Saturday's was the franchise's 30th home playoff victory in overtime, fourth all time in NHL history. That includes 17 at the United Center and 13 at Chicago Stadium.

The Ducks have not lost a playoff game in regulation this year as they head home to the Honda Center for Game 5 on Monday.

If it goes overtime, the Blackhawks likely will stick to their game plan.

"The talk is always pretty similar when we go into overtime, whether it's the first overtime, third overtime, whatever the situation we might find ourselves in," Toews said. "We just keep going. It's just a feeling we're eventually going to find that break. We've seen it so far. Hopefully we can continue to work for those bounces."

Advanced weather radar coming to mid-Missouri

COLUMBIA, MO -- A new and advanced weather radar will soon be scanning the sky of mid-Missouri.

The new radar coming to mid-Missouri will help meteorologists better understand and forecast whats going on in the sky above our area.

Doppler radar has been around since World War II, but has gone through many upgrades since then.

The new radar will be located in southeast Columbia at the Jefferson Institute.

Dr. Patrick Market, a University of Missouri atmospheric science professor, explained how the new radars primary objective will be research.

"The purpose of the radar at the research level is to create rainfall maps for the Hinkson creek water shed... to allow one of our professors to develop a better understanding of nutrient transport throughout that water shed," Dr. Market said.

Essentially, the University is going to compare radar data to water collected in rain gauges. Researchers are doing this so they can construct higher resolution and higher quality maps of how nutrients like nitrogen flow through the eco-system.

While the main function of this new radar is for research, therewill bean operational aspect to it as well. The radar will give meteorologists a new view of the atmosphere above mid-Missouri.

KRCG 13 was the first TV station in mid-Missouri to construct a radar. The StormVision Radar allows KRCG 13s meteorologists to see precipitation and rotation close to the surface. KRCG 13s radar, coupled with the new dual-polarized radar at the University will help meteorologists pinpoint different forms of precipitation during all four seasons.

Doppler radar sends out a horizontal pulse of energy into the atmosphere, but dual-pol radar sends those pulses out in both horizontally and vertically. Sending out both pulses of energy will allow meteorologists to determine the shape of precipitation and other objects in the atmosphere.

"The dual-pol capabilities allows you to get a slightly better idea about the type of precipitation that happens to be in the cloud. Rain verses snow, Dr. Market said.

Meteorologists will now also be able to detect non-meteorological targets like birds and insects.

Another interesting fact about this radar that has nothing to do with research and severe weather is it was built in St. Louis.

EWR Radar in the St. Louis suburb of Kirkwood is in the final stages of finishing the new radar. Richard Chappuis, a Mizzou Alumni himself, explained how proud EWR Radar is to be supporting the University of Missouri.

"It's really cool to be a part of the University of Missouri - Columbia's research project. EWR Radar, founded in 1982, is a very proud company. The fact that our largest University, our flag-ship university, needed a weather radar and we were selected, it makes us very proud to be to not only be from Missouri, but also supporting the University of Missouri, Chappuis said.

If everything stays on schedule, the radar will be up and operational by June 30.

Cleveland Cavaliers playing Atlanta have Terry Talkin' about how it's time for ...

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The man who assembled the first Atlanta Hawks team ever to make the Eastern Conference Finals doesn't go to the arena to watch his own team play.

That man is Denny Ferry, who is on "an indefinite leave of absence" from his job as the the Hawks general manager.

The former Cavaliers player and general manager has turned the Hawks into one of the top teams in the NBA after only three seasons. His team won a franchise-record 60 games. The only players still with the Hawks from before Ferry took over are Al Horford and Jeff Teague -- and he even matched the offer sheet given Teague by Milwaukee in 2013 to ensure the point guard remained with the Hawks.

Why was Ferry suspended? He isn't and wasn't suspended by the NBA. He is still being paid by the Hawks. The "leave of absence" came about as part of a dysfunctional ownership group.

Ferry caused some of his own problems because he made some dumb and racially insensitive remarks about Luol Deng during a conference call with the Hawks owners. Ferry read a scouting report stating that Deng "has a little African in him ... he's like a guy who would have a nice store front and sell you counterfeit stuff out of the back."

That was only a small part of what Ferry said about Deng. He praised Deng's leadership ability, and how the players and coaches in Chicago "loved him." He talked about Deng's injury history. He talked about how he liked Deng.

Deng was one of several free agents that Ferry discussed during that conference call. Carmelo Anthony also was discussed.

FERRY TRIED TO SIGN DENG

Here's a point that many missed: Ferry made those dumb remarks from a scouting report that he should have paraphrased on June 6, 2014. But when the free agent period opened on July 1, 2014, Ferry made Deng one of his top targets to bring to Atlanta.

That's right, the scouting report was not Ferry's way of dismissing Deng. He offered a two-year, $20 million deal. He believed it was his job to give a full picture of Deng to the owners -- and saying he still planned to bid for him.

USA Today and others reportedhow Atlanta pursued Deng, who signed a two-year, $20 million deal with Miami. The difference is that Deng can opt-out of the contract this summer after one season. Ferry refused to give the opt-out. His reasoning was if Deng played poorly or was injured, they had to pay him for two years. If he played well, then he could leave after one season.

He viewed the Miami contract as one that favors Deng, who followed the lead of LeBron James. It was James whose agents went with the one year, plus one-year option demand when he signed with the Cavs. Paul Pierce signed the same kind of contract with Washington.

That's because the salary cap is expected to take big jumps in the next few seasons -- meaning more money for the players.

But this is an important point -- Ferry wanted Deng, who is from the Sudan.

As he was negotiating with Deng, Ferry signed Thabo Sefolosha to a three-year, $12 million deal. A former member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Sefolosha's father is South African, his mother is Swiss.

Some critics have said the harsh report on Deng actually was Ferry's own words.

"I never believed that," said Mike Brown, the former Cavs coach. Brown talked about how he has known Ferry since 1997. They became close friends. When Ferry was the Cavs' GM from 2005-10, Brown was his coach. Brown visited Ferry last month in Atlanta.

"The moment I heard about this, I knew Danny was reading a scouting report," said Brown. "That's not how he talks. That's not him."

Ferry's mistake, other than reading verbatim from the scouting report, was that he didn't say, "That's garbage." He left it hanging out there, and one of his enemies would eventually use it to try and hang him.

NO NBA PENALTY

Ferry is not under any NBA discipline. When the story broke in early September about Ferry's comments in a private meeting, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said at the time that there was no cause for Ferry to be fired.

On April 20, 2015, Silver appeared on WFAN'S Boomer and Carton show to talk about a variety of NBA topics. The Hawks were mentioned, and Silver said the following:

  • "Danny is not under any type of suspension."
  • "There was a dispute among (ownership partners) and Danny was collateral damage."
  • "He read a scouting report and knew it was inappropriate."
  • Silver said the league is not preventing Ferry from doing his job, it's the leave of absence that was worked out with ownership.

The Hawks are in the process of being sold and it's up to the new ownership group to determine if Ferry should return to his job. Silver also praised the job done by Ferry.

    HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED

One of the Hawks' owners is Michael Gearon Jr. He doesn't like Ferry and believes Ferry was given too much power by fellow owner Bruce Levenson, who hired Ferry. The GM believed he only had to report to Levenson. This didn't thrill Gearon. He taped part of the call where Ferry discussed Deng.

Eventually, that was leaked to the media in September.

Ferry had made some enemies with the Hawks. He fired some popular people. He made gutsy trades and decided not to bring back Josh Smith, who was one of the team's best players and had grown up in the Atlanta area.

But the real battle was between Levenson and Gearon. The investigation was conducted by the Atlanta law firm of Bird and Alston. They went through all of Ferry's emails with the Hawks. They read thousands of documents and interviewed 19 people.

Nothing else negative was discovered about Ferry. But the investigation found a 2012 email from Levenson that was racially charged.

He wrote: "I think southern whites simply were not comfortable being in an arena or at a bar where they were in the minority. ... I have been open with our executive team about these concerns. I have told them I want some white cheerleaders and while I don't care what the color of the artist is, I want the music to be music familiar to a 40 year old white guy if that's our season [tickets] demo. I have also balked when every fan picked out of crowd to shoot shots in some timeout contest is black. I have even [complained] that the kiss cam is too black."

Embarrassed, Levenson has put up the team for sale. He is the majority owner. The Hawks have been been purchased by a group headed by Anthony Ressler. Former Duke player Grant Hill is part of the group.

    THE FALLOUT FOR FERRY

Ferry apologized twice about the comments. He reached out to Magic Johnson, who initially believed Ferry should be fired. Johnson has since changed his mind.

Ferry would not comment for this story, but others close to him spoke out.

"This is the team that Danny built," said former Cavalier GM Wayne Embry. "I know Danny well. He is not a racist and deserves to be back (as general manager)."

Embry traded for Ferry in 1989, bringing the former Duke star to Cleveland. Embry has been a mentor during Ferry's front office career.

Embry mentioned that former Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young has supported Ferry.Young told WSB-TV that "h**l no," Ferry should not lose his job. He's not excusing Ferry's comments in the meeting, but it's "unfair" to judge Ferry solely by this one incident.

Ferry was the Cavs GM from 2005-10. Because Ferry found himself in a racial firestorm, it's worth noting that he had minorities in key positions with the Cavs. In addition to Brown, one of his assistant general managers was Lance Blanks. He hired Max Benton as the head trainer.

"What happened to Danny was most unfortunate," said Blanks. "It happened with the backdrop of the Donald Sterling (racist comments) and other (racial) things happening in our country. I've known Danny since 2000. In Cleveland, he had one of the best work environments (for minorities) that I've ever been in."

Blanks was a scout with the Spurs when Ferry was the assistant general manager. He was an assistant to Ferry with the Cavs (2005-10). Blanks then was the Phoenix Suns GM for three seasons. He now works for the Longhorn Sports network and still stays in contact with Ferry.

"What Danny said was insensitive," said Blanks. "I talked to him about it. He explained about the scouting report. He gave the entire context, talking about how he actually wanted to sign Luol, but was giving the full report that he had. He has a lot of respect for Luol."

Deng told reporters he has talked to Ferry and accepted his apology: "I talked to Danny and really believe he is sorry for what he said."

This has been very hard on Ferry and especially his family. Once labeled a racist, it's almost an impossible tag to shake.

Ferry likes Atlanta. His five children want to stay in the city and he wants to continue his work with Hawks.

The new ownership group hasn't made a decision on Ferry. If you take a close look at the events, it's clear Ferry made some mistakes -- but after a year on shelf, Ferry deserves to have his job back.

TLC cancels '19 Kids and Counting' amid Josh Duggar misconduct allegations

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. TLC pulled the reality series "19 Kids and Counting" from its schedule on Friday, a move that follows reports of sexual misconduct allegations against one of the stars, Josh Duggar, stemming from when he was a juvenile.

In a statement, the channel said it was "deeply saddened and troubled by this heartbreaking situation, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family and victims at this difficult time." The statement didn't elaborate.

Also Friday, Arkansas police said they had destroyed a record outlining a nearly decade-old investigation into Duggar, a day after the 27-year-old resigned his role with a prominent conservative Christian group amid reports about the allegations.

The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, which obtained the offense report before its destruction, reports Duggar was accused of fondling five girls in 2002 and 2003. Duggar issued an apology Thursday on Facebook for unspecified bad behavior as a youth and resigned his role as executive director for FRC Action, the tax-exempt legislative action arm of the Washington-based Family Research Council.

"I would do anything to go back to those teen years and take different actions," Duggar wrote. "In my life today, I am so very thankful for G*d's grace, mercy and redemption."

No charges were filed against Duggar, and the report says investigators concluded the statute of limitations had passed, according to the newspaper.

Duggar appears on the TLC reality show "19 Kids and Counting," which stars his family. He is the oldest of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's 19 children.

TLC didn't address whether its popular show would return. The program had been set to air in reruns after wrapping its most recent season.

Springdale Police began investigating Duggar in 2006 when officers were alerted to a letter containing the allegations that was found in a book lent by a family friend to someone else.

The report, originally published by tabloid In Touch Weekly, states that a member of Harpo Studios, the producer of Oprah Winfrey's then show, received an email containing the allegations before the family was set to appear in 2006. The tipster warned producers against allowing the Duggars on the show and studio staff members faxed a copy of the email to Arkansas State Police.

Springdale Police spokesman Scott Lewis said Judge Stacey Zimmerman ordered the 2006 offense report destroyed Thursday. Zimmerman didn't return a request for comment on Friday.

"The judge ordered us yesterday to expunge that record," Lewis said, adding that similar records are typically kept indefinitely. "As far as the Springdale Police Department is concerned this report doesn't exist."

Neither Duggar nor his father, a former state representative, returned calls seeking comment Friday.

Several Arkansas Republicans have rallied behind the Duggar family, which is still engaged in state politics. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar attended the kickoff event earlier this month for Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, who supported the family in a Facebook post on Friday.

"Those who have enjoyed revealing this long ago sins in order to discredit the Duggar family have actually revealed their own insensitive bloodthirst, for there was no consideration of the fact that the victims wanted this to be left in the past and ultimately a judge had the information on file destroyed_not to protect Josh, but the innocent victims," Huckabee wrote.

Arkansas Sen. Bart Hester said Josh Duggar, who he has known for about five years, has been open and honest about the incident with wife, family and friends. State Sen. Jon Woods, who has known the Duggar family since 2005, said the family had put the issue behind them.

"It's between the family members and was addressed a long time ago but it's new to the public," Woods said. "The family had time to heal and now the public needs time to heal."

Last October, TLC canceled a series about child beauty pageant contestant Honey Boo Boo and her Georgia family amid reports that her mother, June Shannon, was dating a man with a criminal past.

Johnny Depp Chills And Kills As Whitey Bulger In New Black Mass Trailer

The new trailer also reveals the films funnier side.

If nobody sees it, it didnt happen, Whitey Bulger tells his six-year old son in the new trailer for Scott Coopers crime drama, Black Mass. Bulger is played by Johnny Depp, who is nearly unrecognizable, as he takes on the infamous gangsters male-pattern baldness, added girth, and dead-eyed stare.

While Bulger wouldnt get hired to write any parenting books, the Irish mob boss was hired by the F.B.I. to ironically help fight crime. In the stranger-than-fiction story, Bulgers childhood best friend, John Connolly (Joel Edgerton) grew up to be an F.B.I. agent, who brought Bulger into the feds fold as an informant to work against their common enemy, the Italian mob. Their unholy alliance is documented in the new Warner Bros. Pictures film, set in 1970s South Boston, which stars Depp and Edgerton, alongside Kevin Bacon, Dakota Johnson, Jesse Plemons, Sienna Miller, Adam Scott, and, as reported, Benedict Cumberbatch, playing Bulgers brother.

The first trailer for Black Mass was dark, focusing on Bulgers ruthless enthusiasm for violence, but this preview shows the films, well, not exactly softer side, but at least a funnier one. It breaks up the relentless gore with moments of levity, like Bulgers poor parenting or when an elderly neighbor welcomes him back to the neighborhood and congratulates him on his release from Alcatraz ten years ago.

Black Mass hits theaters on September 18, Bulgers parenting book is expected in stores never.

Mike Huckabee's Facebook fans tear him to shreds for defending Josh Duggar

Yesterday, GOP presidential contender Mike Huckabee posted a lengthy Facebook status affirming his support for the Duggar family, saying that Josh Duggar who confessed to molestation is being attacked by blood-thirsty media and deserves our support.

This set off a surprising reaction among Huckabees Facebook fans, with a chorus of his once-supportive Republican loyalists declaring that he had lost their vote over his words on the matter. Here are a few examples:

Meghan Trainor: A role model for my daughters

Meghan Trainor meets fan with leukemia. Teen Vogue/ Fanlala screenshot

I've liked Meghan Trainor ever since she flooded the radio waves with her hit, "All About That Bass." Over the past week, however, I have found myself writing about her for the third time. Why? I think she's adorable and a good role model for my daughters these days.

The fact that Meghan began as a songwriter in Nashville and worked (hard) to find her perfect opportunity into pop mainstream stardom makes her a young woman with early career success. I like that she's a songwriter and performer, but above all, I love how she insists on doing her own thing and following her unique style. These are values that parents often teach their kids, but it is really difficult to find examples of other "role models" without encountering plastic surgery or a total inability to create on their own without a team of fifty producers for one song. I'm not knocking the vast array of talent in this world, but I'm trying to point the little heads of my girls to look at someone like Trainor and notice that all she had to do was work hard and not give up on her dreams.

Whether she's winning awards (as recent as Billboard) or performing for national television on The Voice, Meghan Trainor is a busy dynamo these days. To boot, she has time to do other amazing things.

When I read that Meghan coordinated to meet a Staten Island-based little girl with leukemia, I thought very highly of the singer. She's young. Right now, she could be letting her fame go to her young little 20-something head, but instead she's bringing a sick child to dance with her on stage at a recent concert. High five to Meghan for that!

A few days later, I received a "news" lead about Meghan Trainor. As a freelance writer, I get news leads and public relation requests to promote random celebrities, products and events often. I giggled at the topic - Meghan Trainor loves broccoli apparently and this was news. Then, I read one of the articles and realized she was making a subtle and important point.

    She eats.

Not only does she eat, but she eats healthy food, like chicken and broccoli, and acknowledges that with her busy schedule, she needs energy. Food equals energy. Trainor also went onto explain how she used to not take very good care of her health when fame knocked on her door, but that she has adjusted to the chaos of celebrity life by making time to eat and sleep.

Doesn't everyone's kids needs to read that? Famous people eat and sleep. Who knew?

There are also the negative nancy articles out there about Meghan Trainor. After all, she is a star and people want to jump on any chance to say something about someone famous, whether it is well-founded or not.

When Meghan entered the mainstream of pop culture, her appeal came from a combination of her catchy, upbeat music and her playful, attractive body image. She's not "a size 2," but I don't think Trainor really cares. Her slightly sarcastic and cheeky song lyrics drive home a point that she has a positive attitude about herself, and she's not looking to look any specific way.

Just a couple of weeks ago, the Ted Baker brand drew some negative attention when Meghan Trainor lashed out at their photo editing of her body while she wore their skirt. She didn't want to look thinner for fashion. She made that pretty clear. In other words, this is a young woman who is also standing up for herself against a worldwide perspective about ideal beauty and fashion trends.

As a musician, I love music and respect all artists. I'm a lover of the creative people in this world. I am open to almost everything, but as a mom, I am more discerning. I look for artists who may help me in pushing the parenting goals and lessons I teach my children. If I can find one, he or she is a gem. I really feel that I have found a gem in Meghan Trainor. I do hope she keeps her reputation as lovely as it has been and I wish her many more years in the limelight of pop culture.

Here's her lovely acoustic performance on The Voice.

The Flash boss on finale's shocking departure

Warning: This story contains major spoilers from the season finale of The Flash. Read at your own risk!

One of the newest members of Team Flash finally became a hero in his own right during The Flashs freshman finalebut he did so by sacrificing his own life.

After Barry (Grant Gustin) decided against saving his mother in the past, the scarlet speedster raced back to the present to prevent the Reverse Flash (Tom Cavanagh) from returning to his own time. Devastated at the destruction of the time machine, Eobard was determined to not only kill Barry, but everyone he cares about. Seeing that the man in yellow was getting the upper hand, Eddie (Rick Cosnett) decided to shoot himself, knowing it would effectively erase his descendant from the timeline. EW can confirm that with Eddies death, Cosnett will not be returning as a series regular next season. Why, oh why, did Eddie have to die? Weve got the scoop from Flash boss Andrew Kreisberg:

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: What came with the decision to kill off Eddie?ANDREW KREISBERG: As always with these things, theyre literally the worst decisions you can make for yourself personally. We love Rick so much, both professional and personally. In addition to being incredibly talented, hes such a standup guy and so beloved by everybody on the cast and crew. This wasnt always the plan, but it was always a possibility. When we named Eddies character and gave him the last name of Thawne, there was a whole subset of the audience that believed he was the Reverse Flash, which was intentional. But then we had to live with: Why did he have that name? One of the sad, surprising things about the finale is that for all the good that Barry does, in the end its Eddie who saves the day. Its hard. Its a terrible decision to have to make. Weve been faced with that before, certainly when we made the decision with Colin Donnell on Arrow and Caity Lotz. As with both of those actors and characters, they lived to come back another day. While Rick wont be a regular, Flash is the kind of show between hardcore sci-fi and time travel that I wouldnt be surprised if this isnt the last weve seen of Eddie Thawne.

How does Eddies death reverberate moving forward?Obviously his death is going to have a huge impact on the characters. People sometimes forget this, but there was a nine month gap in the pilot. We did a nine month time jump. Iris (Candice Patton) has been with Eddie for a long time and they were living together. He didnt just die, he died to save her. Obviously Iris is going to be dealing with that. Barry is going to be dealing with the fact that all Barry has ever wanted to do is protect Iris, and in the end it was Eddie who got to do it. Joe (Jesse L. Martin) has lost his partner. One of the great things about Flashthat was always designed to be that way, but has turned out far more emotional and better than we ever couldve hoped forwas just how much people care for these characters and how much the characters care about each other. To lose somebody like Eddiewho has never been anything but a good guy and is the one who sacrifices himself not just for our characters, but for the worldthats going to have an impact and its not something thats going to go away right away. Like with a tragedy in any of our lives, every day you get further away from it, it gets a little bit easier, but its really about integrating it into your life moving forward.

Even before Eddies death, Iris had definitively chosen him. Does his death really put the kibosh on Barry and Iris for the time being?Yeah. Its hard after that to try and pick up exactly where they had hoped to becertainly where Barry had hoped to be. Its not the easiest thing for Barry to try and get past or even for Iris to get past. It wouldve been very easy for Eddie to sacrifice himself after Wells had told him he doesnt get the girl and doesnt have a future. For us, what made it even more heartbreaking is that Eddie didnt kill himself because he didnt have anything to live for, he killed himself because he had everything to live for. He committed to Iris and said, Screw the future. Im going to make the life that I want for myself. At the end of the day, all he ever wanted to do was protect her and thats why he made the ultimate sacrifice.

What does this mean for Tom Cavanagh? Will we actually see him next season, and if so, how?Tom Cavanagh will continue to be a regular on Flash is all I am prepared to say.

Have we actually seen the last of the Reverse Flash? On Flash, youve never seen the last of anybody, no matter what happens to them.

We got a brief glimpse of Matt Letscher before Reverse Flash fizzled out. Will he be a part of the show moving forward?Yeah. We hope so. Greg [Berlanti] and I both worked with Matt on Eli Stone. Were friends. Were such huge fans. The idea of Eobard Thawne having essentially stolen Harrison Wells body was an idea that we came up with midstream. That wasnt always part of the conception. Whats wonderful about it is now it allows us to have two tremendously talented actors both playing the same villain. When the Reverse Flash returns, the face thats underneath the hood can be one of two faces now.

Lets talk about Barry running into the singularity in the final moments of the finale. Are you planning to pickup right where season 1 left off? Were mapping out the season. The circumstances in which we come back will hopefully be surprising and entertaining. There are a bunch of questions that were left unresolved at the end of the season and theyll be resolved in the premiere. But how that happens wont quite be the way people expect. Hopefully the unexpected is what people have come to expect from us.

The entire city is being sucked up into this singularity.I hate when that happens!

Should we be worried about time getting altered in the process of Barry fixing things? When you open a singularity above a city, you should be worried about anything and everything that happens. Part of the fun of The Flash is when you have people dabbling in sci-fi physics, theyre significantly altering the world. We established in the finale that the entire series of The Flash is, in itself, an alternate timeline thats been skewed from the real one. Wells setting off the accelerator created all the metahumans, and the results of the singularity will also have long-term effects.

We saw all these different timelines in the speed force. Will you delve more into the other timelines and the speed force next season?Sure.

We actually got the first glimpse at Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) as Killer Frost when Barry was running through the speed force. Is it a long while before thats brought into the storyline again or might Barry mention what he saw?Yeah, now that people have seen the finale, there were some things were letting happen faster than people are expecting and there are other things were slow playing. Thats the fun for us as writers, but hopefully for the audience too, that especially with characters like Caitlin and Cisco (Carlos Valdes), there is a certain level of expectation after we very specifically gave them the names we gave them and how thats going to turn out. Youve got Wells telling Cisco that he was affected, but when we saw in the speed force, we saw Caitlin really and truly affected. Whether that happens next year or the year after that, well have to wait and see what the speed force tells us to do.

Wells basically instilled fear of the future into both Cisco and Caitlin. How does that affect them next season? Its one of the most interesting aspects of the show for us. Its far more interesting for us to hear about the future than it is to actually see it. Watching Barry, Iris, Eddie, Joe, Cisco and Caitlin all have heard about the future, and have heard about what will happen to them, and then watching how all of them fight against it or submit to it. It was certainly one of the most interesting aspects of the Eddie-Barry-Iris triangle. You have a love triangle, which weve seen a million times in movies and television, but to get a glimpse of the future where you actually hear who the two are that are going to end up together, that puts an interesting wrinkle in that relationship. For Cisco, hes spent an entire year fighting against metahumans, and now to discover that he might possibly be one himself is certainly going to have a big impact on his character moving forward.

Caitlin and Ronnie (Robbie Amell) got married in the finale, but Ronnie is not actually part of the super spinoff DCs Legends of Tomorrow. Should we be worried? This is me saying no comment.

But we did get to see our first glimpse of Hawkgirl (Ciara Rene) as the singularity is happening. How cool is that? Honestly, it was a last minute decision. I read somewhere online, it said, CW confirms Hawkgirl not in Flash season finale. I said, Thats so weird that the CW put out this thing about it. I dont remember anyone asking us about that. Literally, when I read that, I was like, Well, why cant she be in the finale? It really wasnt part of it, but we already had this sequence designed where we were going to go around the city and have everybody look up into the sky and see the singularity. We were up there shooting the Legends presentation, so Ciara was going to be there anyway. I asked our line producer, Look, I know this is last minute, but is there anyway we could stage her as part of the crowd? We picked up that shot. Its just so much fun for us because its just yet another glimpse at what the future of these characters are going to be. Were so excited to be working with Ciara. To have that first glimpse of her be here on The Flash was so exciting.

The Flash will return to The CW this fall. In the meantime, read all about other super series DCs Legends of Tomorrow here and Supergirl here.

Dwight Howard works out with knee brace; still questionable for Game 2

SAN FRANCISCO Rockets center Dwight Howard, wearing a brace on his sprained left knee but moving much better than he had a day earlier, went through about half of the teams morning shootaround and a long workout after in hopes that he will be able to play in tonights Game 2 of the Western Conference finals.

Howard is listed as questionable and will be a game-time decision, but went through a series of cuts to the basket and jump hooks in a workout with Rockets assistant Josh Powell. He has yet to test the knee with any full-court sprints, leaving him unsure about how the knee will respond to less controlled game conditions.

Well see tonight, Howard said. I felt pretty good out there. The most important thing is that Im at least 90 percent to play. I dont want this to be something that bothers me through the rest of the series. I want to get rid of all the pain, or (as much) of the pain as possible so I can give my teammates 100 percent.

It feels pretty good. Hopefully, it feels a lot better tonight. I believe its going to be healed. Im not going to try to worry about it too much try to prepare for tonight. Its improved a lot. Im just happy I was able to get out on the court and do some work today.

Howard left Tuesdays game in the first quarter after a collision with teammate Josh Smith. He returned to the game, but struggled with throbbing pain. After playing 51 seconds to start the fourth quarter, Rockets coach Kevin McHale made the decision to have him sit out the rest of the game.

I didnt really get a chance to do a lot of running, Howard said. All the stuff I did was in the halfcourt. Hopefully, Ill be able to play and give my teammates everything. I dont want this to be something that lingers throughout the rest of the playoffs. I want to nip it in the bud and just go play.

McHale would not speculate about whether Howard would be able to play after Howard was so limited in the walk-through.

He did part of shootaround, not a lot of it, McHale said. Well see how that leg responds. Theres nothing else I can tell you. He moved like he went about half of shootaround moving. I cant speak for Dwights knee.

Howard was not entirely sure about what his knee was telling him, but said he wanted to be sure that if he does play, it would not become a problem for the rest of the series.

The Rockets went 29-12 with Howard this season, outscoring teams by 5.1 points per game when he played. They were 27-14 without him, outscoring opponents by 1.8 points.

In the playoffs, the Rockets have struggled badly defensively without Howard. The Rockets have allowed 104.7 points per 100 possessions with Howard on the court; 111.7 with Howard on the bench.

He looked good to me, Smith said. Well have to wait to closer to game time on a decision hes going to make whether to play. Its just good to see hes out here trying to go, trying to see where he is health-wise. Hopefully, he plays. If not, Im positive guys are going to step up in his absence.

Howard has often talked about being cautious, but Keith Jones, the Rockets vice president in charge of the training staff, said it has been difficult to get him to agree to sit out with injuries. Howard said again that he wanted to be sure playing in Game 2 would not limit him for the games to come, but as with Tuesdays decision to sit him out in the fourth quarter, he will not be making making the call tonight alone.

Jones said Howard has spent much of the past 48 hours working with athletic trainer Jason Biles and team doctor Steven Flores.

Hes so tough, so tough, he always wants to play, Jones said. We had to shut him down with the knee (during the season.) People dont know how tough he is. He doesnt get the credit for that.

He played through a lot, the shoulder (a torn labrum in 2012-2013.) He played through the back stuff (in 2011-12 and after the surgery in 2012-13). The knee, we shut him down. He never said stop. We had to tell him. Hes a player. He likes to play. He likes to compete. People said all the other stuff about him, but he likes to play basketball. Im going to play and help my team.

Howard, however, said he wanted to be sure.

I want to be out there, but the most important thing is that Im healthy for the whole series, Howard said. I believe in my teammates and we trust each other. I feel like if I was to miss tonights game, Joey (Dorsey), Clint (Capela) and the rest of the bigs will do a great job in my place. I have no concern with that.

Im just going to do the best that I can to prepare to play.

Cavaliers vs. Hawks, NBA playoffs 2015: Time. TV schedule and how to watch ...

The Hawks need the win to avoid going to Cleveland down 0-2.

The Hawks will host the Cavaliers in an early must-win game in the East finals. After losing the opening matchup at home, another loss would put Atlanta in the precarious situation of being down two games when the series moves to Cleveland. The Hawks have gone 3-3 on the road in the playoffs, so they can't afford to let themselves fall into that hole. The Cavaliers, on the other hand, have little pressure after stealing home court advantage in Game 1, but will need to be focused to prevent the Hawks from getting back in the series.

Atlanta could be without DeMarre Carroll, who suffered a knee injury in the fourth quarter of Game 1. At first it was feared that he would miss serious time, but an MRI showed no structural damage and he's listed as day-to-day. The Hawks will need him to come back soon because they have no other wing defender who can match up with LeBron James and he has been their most consistent shooter during Kyle Korver's slump. If he can't go, Kent Bazemore will likely start in his stead and Paul Millsap could see some time matching up with James on defense.

The Cavaliers have injury woes of their own. Kyrie Irving has been suffering from knee tendinitis since the conference semifinals. He's listed as questionable for Game 2 and his absence could be hard to mask for Cleveland. If Irving rests, coach David Blatt will have to decide between moving Iman Shumpert to point guard and starting J.R. Smith, who's been thriving off the bench, or inserting backup point guard Matthew Dellavedova in the starting unit. Neither option seems ideal but as long as James plays at a high level, the Cavaliers should be able to compete even without Irving.

At full strength, these teams were evenly matched in the regular season. Now that both have health issues, the one that can adapt better could be the one that advances to the NBA Finals.

Surprise! As It Turns Out, Rebel Wilson Is Actually Who-the-h**l-Cares-How-Old

For the past few days, everyone has been very concerned with digging into the actual age of Rebel Wilson after news broke that she might not be the 29-year-old actor we thought and actually a 35-year-old illuminati lizard person destroying us all with her lies! We can only assume that upon hearing the confirmation that shes actually 35, thePitch Perfect 2 starcollapsed into a pile of dust due to her exceedingly advanced ageand thats not all! Some think shes even lying about her name! Shes been known to go by aliases like Fat Amy, Tilly, Rocky, and Beckyjust to name a few! Where will the lies end?

Facetiousness aside, who can blame Wilson for claiming to be younger than she is, when fellow actor Maggie Gyllenhaal, at 37, is apparently so old that Hollywood is about to Logans Run herwait, did I say facetiousness aside? Oops. They actually just think Gyllenhaal is too old to play the love interest of a 55-year-old man. Fun fact! Thats almost the exact same age difference as the one between Scarlett Johansson and Mark Ruffalo (17 years), but Ruffalo is only 47, so I guess whatever demon bestows the apparent agelessness on male actors requires them to be paired with younger and younger actresses as they age to feed its power.

Seriously, if the movie industry is going to continue judging womenincredibly unfairly on a generally meaningless number, lying about it is a completely understandable and easy solution. Wilson is still the exact same person she was before this information came to light, and she probably avoided a bit of ageism this way. Literally nothing has changed, and its sad that everyone seems to concerned about it.

For her part, Wilson responded by giving 0 f***s, as she should:

Whatever. Im like 95% sure thatInterview With the Vampire was actually a documentary, and Tom Cruise has been undead for hundreds of years while sustaining his youth with the blood of the livingand no one seems to mind. I think we can all acknowledge that Rebel Wilsons age doesnt change a thing and move on.

Josh Duggar resigns from Family Research Council after sexual abuse allegations

Josh Duggar, of TLC's "19 Kids and Counting," resigned his position at the Family Research Council Thursday after reports surfaced that he allegedly sexually assaulted four female siblings in the large family, plus an additional female victim.

The 2006 police report obtained by In Touch Weekly magazine revealed that one of the Duggar siblings, who In Touch Weekly identified as Josh Duggar allegedly committed the assaults.

The incidents date back to 2002 when Duggar would have been 14 years old. In the 33-page police report that FOX411 viewed, the name of the Duggar family members in question are redacted throughout.

Several members of the Duggar family were interviewed by police, as detailed in the report, and they confirmed the incidents, but all the victims said they felt safe at their home, and that no incidents had occurred since Josh returned from the "training center."

They said the incidents brought the family closer to G*d and that their brother had been forgiven.

He and his parents both issued statements on the matter Thursday.

"Back 12 years ago our family went through one of the most difficult times of our lives. When Josh was a young teenager, he made some very bad mistakes, and we were shocked. We had tried to teach him right from wrong. That dark and difficult time caused us to seek G*d like never before," Jim Bob and Michelle said in a statement to People Magazine.

"Even though we would never choose to go through something so terrible, each one of our family members drew closer to G*d. We pray that as people watch our lives they see that we are not a perfect family," the statement read.

"I would do anything to go back to those teen years and take different actions," Josh said in a separate statement released by People, "I sought forgiveness from those I had wronged and asked Christ to forgive me and come into my life. In my life today, I am so very thankful for G*d's grace, mercy and redemption."

TLC would provide no comment on the report when contacted by FOX411.

An Arkansas State Police public information officer referred FOX411 to Arkansas code 12-18-104 which states any data, records, reports, or documents that are created, collected, or compiled by or on behalf of the Department of Human Services, the Department of Arkansas State Police, or other entity authorized under this chapter to perform investigations or provide services to children, individuals, or families shall not be subject to disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act of 1967, 25-19-101 et seq.

However, In Touch claims they got the records from the Springdale Police Department through the same Freedom of Information Act.

The report states that Jim Bob Duggar was first alerted by one of the alleged victims in March 2002. She allegedly told Jim Bob that Josh had been touching her genitals and b*****s while she was sleeping, according to the report.

The report states that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar then learned that multiple incidents like this had occurred. Jim Bob told police, when he was interviewed in 2006, that the Duggars sent their son to a Christian program at the advice of their church elders. However, later in the report Michelle Duggar states where their son was sent was "not really a training center," rather he was sent to stay with an acquaintance and do manual labor.

According to the report, Jim Bob told police he spoke with an Arkansas State Trooper in 2003 after another incident occurred. The trooper, who the police report states knew the Duggar family, explained to Josh what could happen if he continued this behavior.

The report explains that after a family friend became aware of the situation upon finding a letter that detailed the incidents that had been left in a book loaned to the friend by a member of the Duggar family, a call was made to the Child Abuse Hotline, which led to the Crimes Against Children and the Springdale Police Department investigating the case in 2006.

Josh Duggar, now 27, has three children with his wife, Anna, and one on the way. They live in Washington, D.C., where Duggar worked as a lobbyist for the Family Research Council until his resignation Thursday.

FRC president Tony Perkins reacted to Duggar's resignation in a statement obtained by Fox News.

"Today Josh Duggar made the decision to resign his position as a result of previously unknown information becoming public concerning events that occurred during his teenage years.

"Josh believes that the situation will make it difficult for him to be effective in his current work. We believe this is the best decision for Josh and his family at this time. We will be praying for everyone involved," concluded Perkins.

Erin Andrews denies rolling eyes during 'Dancing With the Stars' proposal

Erin Andrews swears she didn't roll her eyes Monday night when Noah Galloway proposed to Jamie Boyd on "Dancing With the Stars."

Not according to the picture I saw.

Us Weekly reported Andrews looked "more than annoyed" and "was caught on camera rolling her eyes while touching her ear piece."

Andrews, who stood between the pair holding a microphone while semifinalist Galloway took a knee for the big moment, tweeted afterward "@usweekly uhhhhh it's called an oh great I'm going to bawl on camera ... ugly cry face alert."

    Of course it was.

Erin Andrews speaks during an interview at the NFL Super Bowl XLVIII media center, Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, in New York. (AP Photo/Matt Slocum)

So the Internet weighed in, because Monday nights are generally slow. According to E! News, someone named @JennieMeetze tweeted, "Someone BETTER gif @ErinAndrews reaction face to that proposal #dancingwiththestars. Andrews, whose other job is being an NFL sideline reporter for Fox, answered, "Where I was trying not to bawl." She also wrote, "It's called emotion ... as in, oh my gosh I'm going to loose it right here."

To a person who called her "rude," Andrews answered, "Ahaha producers telling me to wrap! I [heart] Twitter." @HunterHasty called Andrews "so freaking awkward," adding, "Don't stand between the couple while he's trying to purpose! " Andrews said "And go where?"

    OMG ... whatever.

Andrews also tweeted, "This was my favorite @DancingABC show ... Congrats and well done to our #DWTS family."

Stephen Curry's daughter MVP of Western Conference Finals postgame presser

Stephen Curry may have been named the NBAs most valuable player this season, but his daughter, Riley, knows how to steal the show.

Almost as impressive as Curry's 34-point performance during the Golden State Warriors' four-point win against the Houston Rockets in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals on Tuesday night was Rileys ability to melt hearts while sitting with her father during his post-game media conference.

Between exaggerated yawning, playing around on the stage and telling her dad to not talk so loud, Riley was getting just as much press, maybe even more on social media, than her dad.

But Stephen didnt seem to mind.

Witte Huis is n***a House in Google Maps

The Orange is the New Black actress said following the two-part special of Keeping Up With The Kardashians that she was thrilled with how his story is being told.

Laverne said: "I think it's always powerful when another transgender person comes forward and speaks the truth of their experience authentically and lives visibly is revolutionary in a world that tells us we shouldn't exist."

Laverne c*x at the Emmys in 2014

She thinks that the way he told his journey on Diane Sawyer was 'handled beautifully' and said she spoke with Bruce who said he just wanted to help other people.

Laverne previously congratulated the former Olympian on his brave decision to come out on Diane Sawyer's 20/20 show.

"Sending lots of love and support of #BruceJenner and their family tonight," Laverne, who became the first transgender person to be nominated for an Emmy.

David Letterman's friends, enemies and frenemies through the years

Its no secret that not everyone got along with David Letterman, who has a famously prickly personality. Over his 33 years on late-night TV, he managed to make a lot of his guests pretty angry.

Then again, he was also delightful to many. Herearesome of hisfriends, enemies and frenemies through the years.

[David Letterman taught us to ward off celebrity stupidity. But stupidity won.]

    FRIENDS

    * Regis Philbin

Oh, these two. Philbin holds the title for the most appearances ever on Lettermans late-night shows, as hes stopped by 136 times over the years. Reege also filled in as guest-host when Letterman had to step off the air for his heart surgery in 2000.

    * Zsa Zsa Gabor

Youll only go on a fast-food road trip with someone you really like.

    * Steve Martin/Tom Hanks/Howard Stern/Bill Murray

We group these four together because their interviewsseem pretty similar Letterman is always delighted to chat with other guys who have been around forever.

    * Isabella Rossellini

Letterman has always been a fan remember when he asked her out on a date?

    * Denzel Washington

The star has been on the show tons of timesand Letterman loves putting him in weird situations: On stage with Don Rickles; telling vacation stories with Lenny Kravitz; trying to start a bromance; or being in front of an empty stage during Hurricane Sandy.

    * Jennifer Lawrence

He wont bring a comforter into the freezing studio for just anyone.

[Stephanie Birkitt has been written out of Lettermans Late Show history, and its a damned shame]

    ENEMIES

    * Cher

We all know she didnt hold back during this contentious interview.

    * Bill OReilly

Letterman got actually quite angry during their 2006 talk about the Iraq War.

    * Madonna

Dropping 14 f-bombs in one interview certainly made her an enemy of the network, at least.

    * Justin Bieber

Hes just such an easy target.

    FRENEMIES

    * Oprah

While they did indeed have quite the awkward interview in the 90s, talk of their feud may have been a bit exaggerated by now, theyre actually real friends.

    * Lindsay Lohan

Letterman gives her a hard time, but we suspect he has a soft spot for the troubled star.

    * John McCain

Never cancel on Letterman with a fake excuse; you will get called out on television. Sen. McCain eventually made up for his blunder by appearing on the show (and apologizing) a few weeks later.

Taylor Swift's 'Bad Blood' vs. Nicki Minaj/Beyonce's 'Feeling Myself': Which ...

This week has kicked off with a pair of Internet-busting music videos, as Taylor Swift's star-packed "Bad Blood" extravaganza was quickly followed by the instantly meme-able clip for Nicki Minaj and Beyonce's "Feeling Myself." These two music videos showcase a handful of the biggest music stars on the planet, and approach their featured songs using wildly different (but equally compelling) visual methods. But which memorable music video of the do you think wins the (still young) week?

Vote now in the poll below to tell us whether Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" video or Nicki Minaj and Beyonce's "Feeling Myself" visual is your favorite clip of the week!

Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" or Nicki Minaj & Beyonce's "Feeling Myself": Whose Music Video is Best?

Swift's highly anticipated "Bad Blood" video was preceded by weeks of personally released teaser images that confirmed appearances from Selena Gomez, Karlie Kloss, Hayley Williams and Ellie Goulding, among others; when the music video finally was unveiled to kick off the 2015 Billboard Music Awards, Swift's latest 1989 visual proved to be a highly stylized action clip, with the singer's many guest stars flaunting their unique ferocities. Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar also popped up to deliver his bars on the "Bad Blood" remix, adding a new dimension to the anthem and putting his stamp on the girl power expo.

Billboard Music Awards Ratings Reach 14-Year High

Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj and Beyonce have once again teamed up to ooze effortless cool all over the "Feeling Myself" video, which was filmed during Coachella last month. The cut from Minaj's The Pinkprint album, which premiered exclusively on Tidal on Monday (May 18), finds the two divas flexing in a kiddie pool, mean-mugging next to various classic cars, rocking squirt guns and slow-winding before feasting upon hamburgers. In other words, "Feeling Myself" finds Bey and Nicki being cooler than darn near anyone on the planet.

However, is the "Feeling Myself" video cooler than Taylor's epic "Bad Blood" production? Defend your choice in the comments section below.

9 Kelly Clarkson lyrics that would be appropriate for Gareth Bale right now

We are no strangers to quoting our favourite pop stars in everyday conversation.

In fact we are Fearless with our love of quoting Taylor Swift and Sparks Fly when Mean people react telling us she's rubbish but we just Shake It Off and Begin Again. In fact, if you're not careful we will Speak Now about out love for Tay-Tay and never stop.

But Gareth Bale isn't a Taylor Swift fan. Well, he might be, but he prefers Kelly Clarkson.

How do we know this? Because the under-fire Real Madrid winger quoted Ms Clarkson when talking about his form at the Bernaubeu.

Whether it was an intentional KC quote we're not sure but it was one nonetheless.

"What doesnt kill me makes me stronger and Ill learn from this season and take it on," he said to Sky Sports.

"There have been some ups and downs but personally I think Ive played well. Ive maybe not scored as many important chances as Id like but my general play has been good. My finishing is not as good and thats something to work on for next year."

But while Stronger (What Doesn't Kill Me) is undoubtedly a Kelly Clarkson classic we think there are some songs more appropriate to Bale's struggles at Real Madrid right now, so here they are...

    9. "Because of you I never stray too far from the sidewalk."

Nope, Gareth likes to stay in his car so he doesn't get more abuse from angry Madridistas.

    8. "Wanted to belong here, but something felt so wrong here."

Maybe it just isn't working out for Bale at Real Madrid after all.

    7. "Because of you I find it hard to trust not only me, but everyone around me."

Yep, Gareth really doesn't trust the Madrid press after they have continuously savaged him after games.

    6. "Since youve been gone I can breath for the first time."

That time Cristiano Ronaldo was injured and Bale can finally come out of the Portuguese star's limelight.

    5. "Walking by myself I know, this lonely road's becoming my new home."

Madrid can be a lonely place for a Welsh lad who no-body is a fan of right now.

    4. "Can someone tell me why it's so hard taking chances?"

This works on two levels; leaving the Premier League to move to Spain and literally taking chances in front of goal, something Bale hasn't done for seven games.

    3. "Back and forth, up and down like a rollercoaster."

Gets tiring running up and down that Real Madrid wing...sometimes for nothing.

    2. "Everybodys talking, but they dont say a thing, they look at me with sad eyes but I dont want the sympathy."

No explanation needed with this one

    1. "I'm strong, but I break, I'm stubborn, and I make plenty of mistakes."

    Plenty, Gareth!

Big chance becomes a big waste for the Blackhawks

That wasnt exactly a disaster, but monumental waste seems to fit the Blackhawks performance Sunday afternoon.

Blown chance. Blown chance. Blown chance.

    Ducks goal.

Blown chance. Blown chance. Blown chance.

Ducks goal. Blown chance. Goal. Blown chance. Blown chance. Blown chance.

Ducks goal. Ducks goal. Ducks win Game 1 of the Western Conference finals when they barely had the puck.

The Hawks are faster and more talented than the Ducks, and it showed early and pretty much throughout the game.

The Hawks had the puck, took 70 shots, and controlled of the pace. I mean, it was silly the way the Hawks dominated puck possession.

Their Corsi For was better than twice the Ducks in the first period, starting with an early power play and a glorious chance for Patrick Kane.

    The Ducks led 1-0.

The Hawks had the puck nearly 60 percent of the time in the second period.

The Ducks led 2-0 before Brad Richards scored late.

The Hawks were given two power plays almost back-to-back in the third period when they trailed by a goal, but looked awful on the first and couldnt take advantage of the second.

The Ducks scored twice. See ya Tuesday.

The probabilities say the results will change as the series progresses. The best players on the Hawks will beat the best players on the Ducks.

Problem was, the Hawks were beaten by some of the most unknown Ducks.

    Hampus Lindholm, anybody?

    How about Kyle Palmieri?

    Nate Thompson?

They potted the Ducks first three goals.

OK, the Ducks got a bunch of help on the first two goals from the helpless David Rundblad, who was replacing injured defenseman Michal Rozsival.

But still, the Ducks goal scorers point up what a waste this was. The Hawks lost a game in which Ducks stars Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry managed one point.

    Combined.

And that was a second assist on an empty-net goal.

Ultimately, however, I dont think the Ducks rope-a-dope will work, even if Anaheim wasnt trying to rope-a-dope. The Ducks are slower than the Hawks, so thats what it turns into.

The one area that the Hawks speed failed them was when Ducks goalie Frderik Andersen offered rebounds. Chances were there, but Hawks snipers were not. Not often enough, anyway.

The Hawks also struggled to get to get traffic in front of Andersen. It doesnt matter how big the Ducks are. The Hawks have to get to the net.

Hawks coach Joel Quenneville played toy soldiersbecause he had to. Searching for scoring, he put Jonathan Toews between Kane and Teuvo Teravainen for one shift. Quenneville switched left wings all over the place hoping someone could find the back of the net.

Nobody after Richards could. I expect that to change. I also hope that we dont look back on this game with regret.

Bray Wyatt vs. Ryback: Winner and Reaction from WWE Payback 2015

    Jonathan Bachman/Associated Press

Bray Wyatt fell short in arguably the biggest match of his career against Undertaker at WrestleMania, but he got back to his winning ways Sunday at Payback by defeating Ryback.

The WWE Universe Twitter account had the news:

WWE captured arguably the highlight of the match, Ryback from the top rope:

The images of these two weren't pretty, as WWE Universe showed us:

Mike Killam of WrestleZone.com praised the action:

The self-professed New Face of Fear hasn't competed much since WrestleMania, as he was left off the Extreme Rules card. Much like he did with The Deadman, though, Wyatt cut a number of cryptic promos in reference to a specific Superstar.

His target ended up being The Big Guy, as he attacked him on the Raw episode following Extreme Rules. That led to a heated feud between them, and things eventually came to a head at Payback.

Although the Eater of Worlds rarely gives direct reasoning for his actions, he has seemingly taken offense to Ryback's positive outlook. In an attempt to prevent him from spreading his message to the WWE Universe, Wyatt decided to take matters into his own hands.

After appearing on Chris Jericho's podcast several months ago, Ryback became an inspirational figure in the eyes of many fans. According to fellow Superstar Dolph Ziggler, his commitment to success is extremely impressive:

Wyatt has always attempted to influence the WWE Universe with his own way of thinking, and going after Ryback may have been his way of preserving that.

While Wyatt has been on the precipice of being one of WWE's top heels since last year, Ryback has been doing everything possible to get back to where he was in 2012. The Human Wrecking Ball was arguably the most popular wrestler in the company at that point, but some questionable booking decisions halted his momentum.

After returning from an injury last October, though, Ryback started to work his way back up the ladder. He needed a truly big win in order to kick-start things, though, and he wasn't able to get it at Payback.

Both Wyatt and Ryback needed to come out on top Sunday, but only one of them ultimately could. WWE decided to go with Wyatt, which suggests that there are bigger immediate plans for him.

There are few better characters in wrestling right now than Wyatt; however, he has been plagued by inconsistent storytelling and subpar performances in the ring. If strides can be made in both those areas moving forward, though, the sky is the limit.

Sunday's match isn't one that fans will remember for its technical acumen, but if it results in Wyatt being launched toward something more substantial, then it was ultimately a success.

Death Penalty for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in the Boston Marathon Bombing

    To the Editor:

Re Tsarnaev Given Death Sentence in Boston Attack (front page, May 16):

Most people I know were hoping for this outcome, but Im afraid I cant rejoice. The innocents killed are gone forever, and the injured still carry their wounds.

Since Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was willing to risk his life in the attacks, theres no reason to believe that the next would-be terrorist will be dissuaded by capital punishment.

The question is whether our society should support a justice system that responds to death with death and sometimes executes those wrongfully convicted along with the known guilty.

    NADIA EL-BADRYDobbs Ferry, N.Y.

    To the Editor:

I am against the death penalty for criminals, but I have long believed that terrorism lies somewhere between a crime and an act of war, even if tried as a crime (and I do not think society has sorted through that reality yet). While I am not happy about the sentence, neither am I remorseful about it.

    CRAIG AVEDISIANNew York

    To the Editor:

I generally oppose the death penalty, simply because innocent people sometimes do get executed. But I have no intellectual or moral objection to the state exacting a life for a life.

In the case of people like Timothy McVeigh or Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, in which guilt is unquestionable and retribution well justified, I support a sentence of death. I applaud the jurys decision.

    JON HARRISONPoultney, Vt.

    To the Editor:

When the parents of the 8-year-old boy who was killed, Martin Richard, asked for life in prison rather than the death penalty in order to avoid the long, drawn-out and inevitable appeals process, that clinched it for me.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev may deserve the death penalty, but the victims, their families and the rest of the country deserve to move on, live life, forget about this bad man and not waste millions of dollars on appeals and perhaps decades of dredging up the ugly details.

Maximum-security prison and forget about him would have been a better option, in my opinion.

    DENISE G. MILLSBuffalo

    To the Editor:

How can we justify this verdict when we select a jury to exclude those opposed to the death sentence?

    SHARON AUCOINNorth Andover, Mass.

    To the Editor:

Those who are going to bash the jurors for this verdict should remember that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev had the best death-penalty defense attorney in the country and that the jurors (not us) reviewed the evidence that overwhelmingly convinced them of his guilt.

It is a sad thing to see a young person receive the death penalty, but I truly believe in the integrity of these jurors, that they followed their instructions and the evidence before them in reaching their verdict.

    MARGOT KELLERSarasota, Fla.

    To the Editor:

I am against the death penalty in most instances. However, in this case, as in the Oklahoma City bombing case, it is the only appropriate penalty. A sad ending to a very tragic event.

    SUZANNE WILLIAMSLexington, Va.

    To the Editor:

I am proud to live in a state where the majority did not favor the death penalty, even in a case as awful as this. I, too, am in that majority. But I also cannot imagine what it must have been like for those jurors, and I wish them all peace as they try to move on after doing a great civil service for us.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's uncle gives his take: 'They want blood. They want death.'

Dzhokhar Tsarnaevs uncle told the Herald jurors were determined to execute his nephew, saying the 21-year-old was the victim of a domineering older brother.

They want blood. They want death, the 12 people who decided to kill him, said Alvi Tsarni, referring to the jury that unanimously decided Tsarnaev should be executed for the heartless attacks.

Tsarni, of Maryland, said he didnt know about the verdict until a Herald reporter called him yesterday for reaction. Informed that his nephew had just been sentenced to death, Tsarni said: I dont feel anything. ... Nothing feel.

Later in the interview he admitted to feeling saddened.

I wanted him to live in prison, said Tsarni, adding he believes Dzhokhars older brother, Tamerlan, was the mastermind of the bombings. He made him do it. Hes young. Young people dont think.

Tsarni said he didnt attend any of the court proceedings in Boston because he had to work, but had been following the trial by watching it on the Internet.

Asked if he believes Dzhokhar is guilty of placing a bomb near the Boston Marathon finish line in 2013, Tsarni would only say: I believe in American justice.

I thought whole life in prison would be justice, Tsarni said in broken English. Because he would be totally shuttered.

Tsarni said he didnt know whether he would try to contact Dzhokhar now that hes officially on death row.
