It seemsMacaulay Culkinsees the funny side to himself being dead after a hoax spread over social networks claiming he had passed away at the weekend. The actor decided to play along and pretended to be a corpse in whole array of pictures poking fun at the rumour.
The drama began when a fake tribute page was set up on Facebook for fans to leave their messages of condolence for the Home Alone star which included a false statement confirming his 'death.'
The posting read: At about 11 a.m. ET on Thursday (November 06, 2014), our beloved actor Macaulay Culkin passed away. Macaulay Culkin was born on August 26, 1980 in New York. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.

However it was very quickly proven to be a false report when pictures of Macaulay hanging out with his Pizza Underground bandmates in the days after his supposed death were seen posted on Twitter, with fans of the Home Alone star picking up on the discrepancy.
Macaulay, 34, then took it upon himself to make the whole incident in to a big joke by posing for a series of snaps inspired by 1989 comedy movie Weekend At Bernie's - where an office is dressed up and made to appear alive by two of his employees after they find him dead.
One snap shows him being held up by his pal as he wrote: "Weekend at bernies with @anchovywarhol #greenroom." They even carried the joke on during an onstage performance in another image where he is seen being held up to the microphone to perform to fans alongside the caption: "Performing last night at the Belmont, Bernie style @funfunfunfest #imalive."

And just in case anybody had any doubts left, a third image showed Macauley standing on his own two feet with no help from anybody else as he stepped out for a spot of lunch and wrote: "One of the great things you can do when you're alive is stop for lunch in Breaux Bridge, LA."
The Facebook page - reportedly named RIP Macaulay Culkin - has since been removed from the social networking site.
