Local St. George company featured on ABC's "Shark Tank"

ST. GEORGE (ABC 4 Utah) - If you need help to p**p, try the Squatty Potty. Even though nobody likes to talk about, the Edwards family in St. George has made a business out of squatting.

"We're having that conversation because as important as what we're eating is how we eliminate," said Robert Edwards, founder of Squatty Potty.

Robert and his family came up with the horseshoe shaped stool to help his mother's constipation issues. They shared the "Squatty Potty" with friends and health bloggers and after three years, the product has already earned more than $6 million.

"We've sold over 350,000 Squatty Potty's so far and over half of those have been in the last year," Robert said.

While ABC4 was interviewing the Edwards family, Michelle Delloso came to buy one for herself. She heard about the product from her friend during lunch.

"It's a win-win. It's helping me and I'm helping a local business to succeed," she said.

On November 14th, viewers across the nation can tune into to Robert and his mom showcasing their Squatty Potty in front of the fierce judges of ABC's "Shark Tank". They say it was an experience of a lifetime and a frightening one too.

"It was exhausting afterwards. In fact, they have a psychiatrist on hand making sure you're going to be okay. Everyone has to have an interview with the psychiatrist after the show. It can be stressful," Edwards told ABC 4.

Will Squatty Potty impress the "Sharks"? Tune in at 8pm to find out.
