Singer Ricky Martin became a victim of an Internet death hoax, according to Media Mass.

Fans on social media reportedly started posting about the fake incident when a Facebook page named "R.I.P. Ricky Martin" gained a lot of followers on Saturday. According to the fake report, Martin passed away on Jan. 3 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Representatives for the singer refuted the rumor in a statement, saying, "He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet."

Martin himself slammed the rumor by posting a photo on Instagram of the beach where he is vacationing and captioned it, "Hello from #heaven."

The singer followed it with another photo. He posted a photo of himself overlooking the beach during sunset.

While Martin is alive and well, his relationship with longtime boyfriend Carlos Gonzalez Abella has gone six feet under, according to Just Jared.

A representative for the singer confirmed the couple's split in a statement, saying, "Ricky and Carlos have mutually agreed to end their relationship but continue to be united by friendship and their shared experiences."

Martin hinted at the break-up on Twitter on Friday, posting, "Changes oh changes," according to the Daily Mail.

He followed it with another post saying, "So, you are waiting to be ready??? Watch out, you can be waiting all your life. #GODoit."

He also posted a cryptic message on Christmas day, saying, "Just because the lesson comes from someone you love, does not mean it is correct."

Martin and Abella started dating in 2010, the same year the singer went public with his sexuality.

"I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man," Martin wrote on his website at the time. "I am very blessed to be who I am."
