It was only early on Saturday when actress Sophia Bush received word that her ex-boyfriend Dan Fredinburg had been killed during an avalanche on Mount Everest. But she still somehow managed to come out looking stunning at last night's White House Correspondents' Dinner.
Google executive Dan, 33, was the first American confirmed killed by the avalanches in Nepal, which were triggered by the devastating earthquake that has resulted in the deaths of thousands of people in the region.

Dan's death was confirmed by his sister Megan on his Instagram. She explained in the post that he had suffered a serious head injury during the avalanche and didn't survive.
In a heartbreaking post on Instagram on Saturday, 32-year-old Sophia paid tribute to Dan saying he was "one of the great loves of my life."

"Today I find myself attempting to pick up the pieces of my heart that have broken into such tiny shards, I'll likely never find them all," she wrote.

Despite her grief, the 'One Tree Hill' actress looked glamorous in a plunging teal gown at the star-studded event in Washington D.C. last night.
Sophia and Dan split in 2014. They said their schedules were a big part of the relationship's end, but the two remained good friends.
