Floyd Mayweather says he'll post Suge Knight's $10-million bail on one ...

LOS ANGELES Boxer Floyd Mayweather and former rap mogul Marion Suge Knight are the best of friends. And with a little bit of luck and some left hooks, that friendship will pay dividends for Knight, currently in jail for suspicion of murder.

According to the LA Times, Floyd Mayweather Jr. plans to pay Knights $10-million bail if he wins his boxing match against Manny Pacquio in Las Vegas this weekend.

Knights attorney Matthew Fletcher confirmed with the Times that Mayweather plans on paying the bail if he wins.

Suge said, Man, I was really going to pull for him to win, but now Im going to have to pray for him to win,' Fletcher told the Times.

Knight pleaded not guilty Thursday to murder and attempted murder for allegedly driving his truck at two men. During a hearing, Cle Bone Sloan, one of Knights alleged victims, refused to testify, saying he was no snitch.

The deadly incident happened on January 29, after a flare-up on the set of the biopic Straight Outta Compton, a film about the highly influential and controversial rap group N.W.A. The argument spilled over to the parking lot of Tams Burgers in Compton.

The incident is the latest run-in with the law for Knight, who founded the wildly successful Death Row Records in 1991 and signed artists such as Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur.

Knight was driving the car in which Shakur was a passenger when the rapper was shot to death in Las Vegas in 1996.

Shortly afterward, Knight spent several years in prison for violating parole on assault and weapons convictions. That prison time along with Shakurs death, feuds between Knight and a number of rappers, and desertions by Dr. Dre, Snoop and others contributed to the labels bankruptcy in 2006.

At the time of his most recent arrest, Knight was free on bail in a robbery case.
