Weasel woodpecker picture goes viral: weasel riding woodpecker pictured

Weasel riding woodpecker seems to be going viral across the world. This was something that many said was not possible and might be photoshopped.

But there are millions and millions of other people who are claiming that this very enticing picture is true and that we shouldnt get confused reality with photoshopping and that such things show that nature can be more beautiful than we can actually imagine.

The latest viral trend on social networking side has been caused by a picture taken by Martin Le-May. The picture in which a weasel is seen flying on the back of a woodpecker has become one of the most talked about picture in the recent weeks, though it can still not match the interest generated by #TheDress. The color of the dress saw many people fight whether the dress color was white and blue or black and gold.

Nonetheless, after #TheDress this is obviously the second most talked about picture on social networking sites and search engines.

But many reports claim that the picture might be a result of a predatory attack gone awfully wrong for weasel. The picture displays a least weasel flying high on the back of a European green woodpecker.

Le-May says that the picture is genuine and that that he snapped the photo Monday afternoon while visiting Hornchurch Country Park in East London. He says that he might have saved the birds life. While talking to the BBC he says, I think we may have distracted the weasel, as when the woodpecker landed it managed to escape and the weasel ran into the grass.

There are many experts who claim that the photo looks genuine and that forgery in such pictures is very difficult. Hany Farid a professor of computer science at Dartmouth University says, This would have required a nearly perfect and coincidental alignment of the two animals in their original photos so that they could be composited togetherThis type of forgery is therefore more difficult to create than, for example, two animals simply standing side-by-side.
