While it is absolutely normal for the Oklahoma City Thunder to be cautious with the way the handle reigning NBA MVP Kevin Durant's foot soreness, the latest update from general manager Sam Presti is anything but positive.

Friday morning, Presti announced to the media that the franchise has elected to remove Kevin Durant from all basketball related activities until he is able to play without dealing with any soreness.

With today's news there has to be a legitimate fear that Durant could be shut down for the remainder of the season as the team only has 14 games remaining on their regular season schedule.

Should Durant not be able to make his way back to the floor this season, it will be absolutely imperative that Russell Westbrook continue to lead the charge for the Thunder offensively.
