Theres only one thing I can say to LeBron James right about now.

Are you nuts?

In case youve been under a rock or in a cave, or you havent turned on ESPN to hear them breathlessly hyperventilate about the possibilities, James let it slip that he wouldnt think twice about declaring free agency and taking his talents to another team next season.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, mind you, have an 18-12 record through the first 30 games. Only in Cleveland can that be considered a disappointment. This in a season where the Los Angeles Lakers are off to a rotten start. The Detroit Pistons, once one of the elite teams in the NBA, are stuck in the mud. The New York Knicks are the b**t of late-night talk-show jokes.

But no. Its all about Cleveland, because apparently when James sneezes, the rest of the league catches a cold.

Whoever floated this strategy about James testing free agency once again (what is this, The Decision, Part 100?) should think carefully.

James nearly shot his credibility out the window when he got caught up in the moment, tested free agency for the first time, and took his talents to the Miami Heat alongside Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. While they didnt win all the titles James promised, the Heat still won two crowns before coming up short.

You could almost tell James was desperate to rewrite history and disavow The Decision ever existed when he told Sports Illustrated that he was coming home. Instantly, northeast Ohio turned from a depressed basketball market to elation overnight, and downtown Cleveland became the hip place to be.

And yet, The King wants to throw that away, all because the Cavaliers havent gone 30-0.

There are a lot of things wrong with this Cavaliers team. James is trying to get everyone else involved, so hes sacrificing some shots in order to get the others involved. The problem is people like Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving are acting like they dont have to play at 100 percent because James is back.

The logic of whether or not David Blatt is the right guy to coach this team could be best left for another column. The best way to end this column right now is to state the obvious.

LeBron James will never be happy if he keeps flitting from team to team trying to capture the magic he left behind in Miami. James wanted to return to give Cleveland a championship, and hed look like a petulant whiner if he left after one year. Never mind all the sponsors that would be at risk.

It took Michael Jordan years to realize he couldnt do it all alone. Once Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman joined Jordan, the Chicago Bulls dominated the NBA landscape. Jordan didnt leave when the going got tough.

If James wants to be known as the best to ever play the game, the first thing hed do is shut down the rumors and stay in Cleveland.

America doesnt want to see The Decision again.
