Neymar in Danger of Missing Multiple Games After Fracas at Copa Am�rica

Brazil striker Neymar could be barred for more than one game because of the red card he received after Brazils 1-0 loss to Colombia on Wednesday night in the Copa Amrica.

Neymar will miss the Brazilians final group-stage match, against Venezuela on Sunday, and he is in danger of receiving a longer suspension that could keep him from playing in the quarterfinals and beyond, if Brazil advances.

After the final whistle of Wednesdays match, a frustrated Neymar kicked the ball toward the Colombian player Pablo Armero and then tried to head-b**t another player who confronted him. Colombias Carlos Bacca, who shoved Neymar from behind in the ensuing fracas, was also sent off and was provisionally suspended for one game.

The tournaments disciplinary tribunal gave the Brazilian and Colombian football federations 24 hours to prepare a defense for each player, and it said definite sanctions would be announced on Friday.

COSMOS TO PLAY RED BULLS The Cosmos, who defeated New York City F.C. in the fourth round of the United States Open Cup on Wednesday, will face the areas other Major League Soccer team, the Red Bulls, in the round of 16.

The remaining teams were split into four regional groups in a draw on Thursday, with the matches set for June 30 and July 1.

The Cosmos-Red Bulls winner will face the Philadelphia Union or D.C. United in the East region final. ANDREW DAS

A NEW FIFA CANDIDATE The president of the Liberia Football Association, Musa Bility, announced that he would seek the presidency of FIFA. Bility is the second candidate to announce his intention to enter the race to succeed Sepp Blatter, after the former Brazil star Zico. The election is expected to be held between December and February.

Candidates must be nominated by at least five of the 209 FIFA member associations and pass integrity checks to be placed on the ballot. (AP)
